Bollywood's 'Spy Universe' from Yash Raj Films, dominated by male superspies like Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' or Salman's 'Tiger', has so far only showcased the reign of male agents. But now, breaking that familiar trait, Alia Bhatt and the current sensation Sharvari Wagh are arriving to turn the tables.
The anticipation for 'Alpha', the first female-led action extravaganza of Yash Raj's Spy Universe, is already sky-high among audiences. And now, to double the excitement for fans, the official release date and time for the film's teaser have been revealed.
According to a report from the reliable film trade source Pinkvilla, the first official teaser of 'Alpha' is set for a royal drop this coming Wednesday. This teaser will primarily showcase the unbelievable origin story of an ordinary girl's transformation into a 'killing machine'. YRF head Aditya Chopra has devised an entirely new plan for promoting this film. It has been learned that after the teaser release, Alia and Sharvari will launch a 'badass' and high-voltage promotion campaign targeting the youth across India, with the main theme being: 'Alpha is not just a movie title, it is an indomitable attitude of modern India today!'
Alongside the teaser, there is strong buzz in the film industry regarding the movie's release date as well. Initially, the film was slated to release on July 10, but according to the latest reports, the makers are likely to advance the release by a week, finalizing on July 3, 2026.
Behind this move lies a sharp business calculation. On one hand, the comedy film 'Dhamal 4' has pushed its release date back to July 17. On the other hand, Disney's highly anticipated live-action movie 'Moana' is releasing worldwide on July 10. Therefore, to avoid direct clash with Hollywood and to rule the box office with an open field for two consecutive weeks, YRF is playing this masterstroke of releasing on July 3.
Directed by Shiv Rawail and shot in the picturesque and remote locations of Kashmir, this spy thriller features, alongside Alia and Sharvari, Bobby Deol of 'Animal' fame as the villain, with Anil Kapoor and R. Madhavan in special roles. A brief glimpse of the character played by Alia was seen in the post-credit scene of 'War 2'. How much of a surprise the fully realized version in the June 10 teaser will be for the audience is now something to wait and watch!
