Shakib best in film, Emon best on web

The four day New York Bangla Film Festival, held for the first time in New York, concluded with a colorful ceremony. Shakib Khan won the Best Actor award for the film Priyotoma. Film actor Emon received the Best Actor award in the web category for Maya, directed by Raihan Rafi.
Shobnom Bubly won Best Actress for Deyaler Desh, while Hridi Haque was named Best Director for the film 1971 Shei Shob Din. The event, held at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in New York, drew attention with the presence of film stars.
During the first three days, short films, documentaries, and feature films by filmmakers from Bangladesh and North America were screened. The closing ceremony featured a red carpet, cultural performances, and an award presentation. Among those attending were Zayed Khan, Kazi Maruf, Emon, Sajal, Bindu, and singer Pratik Hasan.
Among the award winners were Chanchal Chowdhury as Best Supporting Actor for Toofan, Sanzida Preeti as Best Supporting Actress for 1971 Shei Shob Din, Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya as Best Web Film, its director Shihab Shaheen as Best Web Director, Mamunur Emon as Best Web Actor for Maya, and Afsana Ara Bindu as Best Web Actress for Unish 20.
Kazi Arisha (Green Card) and Nairita Hasin Roudromoyi (Jongli) won Best Child Artist awards. Balam (Priyotoma) and Pritom Hasan (Toofan) were named Best Male Singers, while Avanti Sithi (Surongo) won Best Female Singer.
Legendary actor Ahmed Sharif received a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Bengali cinema.
