In Bollywood, celebrity marriages are always a topic of discussion. For some actresses, however, another factor has been added to that discussion. Their husbands are themselves major Indian businessmen, industrialists or members of influential business families. These spouses have built businesses across sectors ranging from real estate and automobiles to fashion and pharmaceuticals.
Some are billionaires themselves while others are heirs to multibillion dollar business families. For some, however, there is no reliable public estimate of their personal wealth. This feature looks at some of Bollywood’s high profile couples.
Vikas Oberoi, husband of Gayatri Joshi
Gayatri Joshi rose to prominence after starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the film Swades. She stepped away from acting after marriage. Her husband Vikas Oberoi is one of India’s major real estate businessmen.
Vikas is the founder and chairman of Oberoi Realty. His business is primarily focused on luxury housing, commercial projects and hotels. According to the 2026 Hurun India Rich List, his wealth is estimated at around Rs 48,100 crore. He ranked as the 59th richest person in India on the list. Forbes’ 2025 list also put Vikas Oberoi’s wealth at around $5.2 billion.
Jay Mehta, husband of Juhi Chawla
One of the most popular actresses of the 1990s, Juhi Chawla married industrialist Jay Mehta in 1995. Jay is associated with the Mehta Group. The business group operates across several sectors including cement, sugar, packaging and engineering. The couple also has a major presence in cricket. Juhi and Jay are co owners of the Kolkata Knight Riders along with Shah Rukh Khan.
There is no reliable current public estimate of Jay Mehta’s personal wealth. However, according to information from the Mehta Group itself, its business operations span several countries and multiple industries.
Sunjay Kapur, former husband of Karisma Kapoor
Karisma Kapoor’s former husband Sunjay Kapur was a major businessman in the automobile industry. He was the chairman of Sona Comstar. The company supplies automotive components to various global automakers.
At the time of his death in 2025, several reports estimated Sunjay Kapur’s wealth at around $1.2 billion. Karisma and Sunjay married in 2003. They later divorced.
Anand Ahuja, husband of Sonam Kapoor
Actress Sonam Kapoor married businessman Anand Ahuja in 2018. Anand is known in the fashion and retail sectors. He is the founder of the fashion brand Bhane and co-founder of the sneaker business VegNonVeg.
He is a member of the Ahuja business family, which is associated with Shahi Exports, one of India’s major garment exporters. Various media reports have estimated Anand Ahuja’s wealth at around Rs 4,000 crore. However, this is not an audited estimate of his personal wealth.
Aman Mehta, husband of Sharmin Segal
Heeramandi actress Sharmin Segal married Aman Mehta in 2023. Through the marriage, she became connected to one of India’s wealthiest business families. Aman Mehta is associated with Torrent Pharmaceuticals and is the son of Samir Mehta, chairman of the Torrent Group. The Torrent Group’s business interests span sectors including pharmaceuticals and electricity.
According to Forbes in 2025, Aman’s father Samir Mehta and uncle Sudhir Mehta had a combined wealth of around $14.1 billion.
Rahul Sharma, husband of Asin
Asin, who entered Bollywood from South Indian cinema, married businessman Rahul Sharma in 2016. Rahul is the co-founder of Micromax. At one point, Micromax held a significant position as an Indian mobile phone brand in the country’s market.
Rahul later became associated with electric motorcycle company Revolt Motors. Various figures have been reported regarding his personal wealth, but they are old and estimates. A 2026 report cited an older estimate of his wealth at around Rs 1,300 crore.
Bharat Takhtani, former husband of Esha Deol
Esha Deol, daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, married businessman Bharat Takhtani in 2012. They divorced in 2024. Bharat expanded his family’s jewelry business. JAR Jewels has expanded its operations across India and Dubai.
A 2026 report valued his business empire at around Rs 165 crore and cited an estimated personal wealth of around $20 million based on figures from 2021. However, this figure cannot be considered a confirmed estimate of his current wealth.
Gene Goodenough, husband of Preity Zinta
Preity Zinta married Gene Goodenough in 2016. He is a finance professional and has previously worked at Bank of America and other institutions. Unlike the others on this list, however, there is no reliable public estimate of Gene Goodenough’s personal wealth. The Financial Express has also reported that his net worth has not been publicly disclosed. Therefore, it would not be accurate to describe him as a millionaire or billionaire based on a specific figure.
Preity herself is also involved in business. She is a co-owner of IPL team Punjab Kings and is involved in various investments and production activities.
