Ranbir mocked for playing Rama, Nikita calls for 'Ramayana' boycott

As the new upcoming mega-film Ramayana's lead actor Ranbir Kapoor reportedly admitted to 'eating beef', a Bollywood actress said he is not at all suitable to play such an epic character like Rama.
One of Bollywood's most anticipated and big-budget projects is Nitesh Tiwari's mega-film Ramayana. Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi is portraying Sita, and the role of Ravana will be seen played by Yash, the star of the KGF fame. However, even before the film's completion, lead actor Ranbir Kapoor has landed in a major controversy! Actress Nikita Rawal has launched a scathing attack on him, citing an old comment of his about eating beef. She has even declared Ranbir Kapoor completely unsuitable for the film and called for a boycott of the movie.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Mascot, Nikita Rawal said, "This character is not for Ranbir Kapoor at all. He is a disgusting and characterless person who has publicly admitted to eating beef. If he can openly say something so significant, how will he understand the dignity of an epic character like Lord Rama?"
Venting her anger at the filmmakers, Nikita further questioned how casting an actor who has made such public comments as Rama constitutes an attack on the religious sentiments and faith of millions of Sanatan Dharma followers. She also expressed surprise that various religious organizations have remained silent on this issue.
Demanding a public apology from Ranbir Kapoor, Nikita said, "He will have to apologise, because this is not just a personal matter for him; it is a matter of trust for millions of people in the country. To act in such a significant character, one must have at least a minimum respect for people's emotions."
Not stopping at just words, Nikita also raised the call to boycott the Ramayana film on social media, stating, "No matter what anyone says, I will say it. It is not possible for someone who eats beef to portray the character of Rama. I will keep trending this hashtag to boycott the film. If Ranbir does not realize his mistake and apologise to lakhs of people, then this film cannot be accepted in any way."
Director Nitesh Tiwari's big-budget film is scheduled to hit theatres in two parts. As per the plan, Ramayana: Part 1 is set to release during Diwali 2026, with the second part arriving during Diwali 2027.
However, whether or not this new controversy surrounding Ranbir will have any impact on the film's release remains to be seen.
