Govinda furious over divorce rumors, issues legal notice threatening 100 crore rupees

The strained relationship of Bollywood's popular actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja has become the talk of the town (in India). However, the actor is extremely angered by the spread of fake news, AI-generated deepfake videos, and defamatory information on social media surrounding this family dispute.
As a strong measure, Govinda has now issued a legal notice to media outlets, YouTube channels, and digital content creators. He has warned that spreading false information against him and his family could lead to a legal claim for damages of up to 100 crore rupees.
The notice, issued on behalf of the actor, clearly states that no one is permitted to publish any distorted, AI-generated deepfake, or false information using Govinda's name, image, voice, or details about his family without prior consent.
The notice threatens civil and criminal action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (2023) and the Information Technology Act (2000). It states that those who violate the directive will face legal action, and Govinda will approach the court for strict measures including the freezing of bank accounts, halting property transactions, and suspending passports of the violators.
Recently, rumors of a long-standing marital separation between Govinda and his wife Sunita resurfaced when Sunita withdrew her divorce petition filed at the Bandra Family Court. Later, Sunita Ahuja made explosive claims during an audio call with controversial model Rakhi Sawant.
Sunita alleged that Govinda was trying to marry his co-actor Komal Rani Swarnkar. She claimed that she learned he would remarry once their divorce was finalized, and that she hastily withdrew her court case to stop that wedding.
However, Govinda's PR team has dismissed Sunita's allegations as completely baseless and untrue. His manager, Shashi Sinha, said that Govinda has no plans for a second marriage and that Komal Rani is merely a professional co-actor. He emphasized that Sunita is Govinda's only wife and strongly criticized the dirty presentation of family matters on social media.
For the past few months, various sensational and AI-edited content regarding Govinda's family life has been circulating on social media. To put an end to this once and for all, the Bollywood actor has now chosen the path of direct legal action.
