Even long after the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, discussions about the lesser known chapters of his life continue. In a recent interview, veteran actress Smita Jaykar, who is involved in spiritual healing, revealed startling details about the final days of Sushant’s life.
She said that when Sushant was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital due to mental depression, his then girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty personally contacted her for spiritual help to help the actor recover.
In an interview, Smita Jaykar said Rhea knew about her healing work because they had worked together in the film Sonali Cable. During a period of severe mental distress for Sushant, Rhea herself called Smita and asked her to come to the hospital.
According to Smita, Sushant seemed quite positive when she spoke with him. Plans were also underway to take him to an ashram for a healing session. However, those efforts did not succeed.
One night, Rhea messaged her to say that Sushant’s condition was deteriorating again. Even today, after hearing about Sushant’s death, Smita expresses her regret, saying, “Why didn’t he come to me that day? I could have genuinely helped him.”
Smita also spoke about the intense media trial and legal battles Rhea Chakraborty faced after Sushant’s death. She firmly stated that Rhea was sincerely trying to save Sushant during that difficult period.
Following Sushant’s tragic death in 2020, the CBI’s recent closure report gave Rhea and her family a clean chit. However, such public remarks by people who worked with Sushant have once again brought back memories of those days in his life.
