Katrina Kaif finally speaks out about body shaming

Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif embraced motherhood in November last year when she gave birth to her son, Vihaan. However, following the birth, some social media users targeted her with cruel body shaming and harsh comments over her weight gain and physical changes.
Since her appearance at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebration last month, social media users have been making harsh comments about her changed appearance. After remaining silent for some time, the Bollywood actress has finally spoken out against the trolling.
Katrina attended an event in London on October 8 to celebrate the success of her beauty brand, Kay Beauty. Speaking to digital influencers at the event, she discussed her personal struggles and the trolling she had faced.
“These days everyone has an opinion on social media. But if you allow all that nonsense being discussed outside to affect your self-esteem, then you will no longer be able to make your own decisions,” Katrina said.
Emphasizing the importance of ignoring trolls, Katrina added, “There will be times in life when the whole world will sing your praises. There will also be times when no one will stand by your side. At those times, you have to be your own biggest cheerleader. Learn to love these changes in your life.”
Earlier, superstar Salman Khan, Katrina’s former partner, had spoken out against the unnecessary body shaming directed at her. During a special episode of Bigg Boss 20, Salman strongly criticized the practice, saying that a woman’s body naturally changes after giving birth. He added that trolling women over such changes reflects mental illness.
As Katrina’s confident and thoughtful message from the London event spread across social media, the new mother received widespread praise. Her fans agreed on one thing: “The queen has truly responded like a queen.”
