Meghmallar Basu needs the trusted hand of a true friend

Former Chhatra Union leader Meghmallar Basu is going through a difficult time in hospital. He was admitted to the hospital in a similar condition before. Popular musician Prince Mahmud has understood the pain behind the reason why the leftist student leader has repeatedly ended up in hospital.

In a Facebook post, he said, “Meghmallar Basu has attempted suicide again. Megh attempted suicide before as well. I read the letter he wrote the other day. I can deeply feel Megh’s intense mental pain and sense of emptiness. When it feels like life has returned to the same starting point despite everything, it is not unusual to feel helpless and exhausted.”

Prince Mahmud believes Meghmallar is trapped in a maze and needs to be shown a way out. He said, “I am concerned about Meghmallar’s safety. At this moment, there should be no political calculations regarding this sick and talented soul! What he needs is only the trusted hand of a calm minded true friend and a professional counselor who will listen with great empathy and help him find a way out of this circular maze...”

The popular composer said that there are people who once took the wrong path but later became successful after receiving care. He said, “I have said this many times and I am saying it again. Everyone needs to clearly understand one thing. There are several inspiring personalities who faced intense mental and environmental struggles early in their lives and attempted suicide but later overcame that dark chapter and became world famous or immensely successful in their respective fields. Their stories of turning their lives around prove that even the most difficult situations in life are not the final word.”
