Star Cineplex celebrates 22 years with buy one ticket, get one free offer

Star Cineplex, the country’s first multiplex cinema, is completing 22 years of operation. To mark its anniversary, the cinema chain has announced a special offer for moviegoers. On October 8, customers will receive one free ticket when they purchase a ticket for any movie.
The offer will be available for counter purchases at any Star Cineplex branch for any movie show. However, authorities said the offer will be valid for one day only on October 8.
Moviegoers will also have another chance to win a prize. Those who share their best memory of watching a movie at Star Cineplex on social media can win a free movie voucher. Details about the offer have been posted on Star Cineplex’s Facebook page.
Star Cineplex, the country’s first multiplex cinema, began its journey on October 8, 2004. It brought a major change to the moviegoing experience of audiences in Bangladesh. The cinema began operations with modern facilities, an aesthetic environment, spacious halls and state of the art sound systems. It quickly became popular among moviegoers.
Star Cineplex also helped make the culture of watching movies at theaters with family more popular in the country. At the same time, Bangladeshi audiences got the opportunity to watch major Hollywood movies on the same day as their international releases. At different times, long lines for tickets from early morning and online tickets selling out several days before a movie’s release have also been seen.
Expressing gratitude to audiences on the 22nd anniversary, Star Cineplex spokesperson Mesbah Uddin Ahmed said, “This journey is undoubtedly a matter of joy. Many new things have come with time. When people accept them positively, that is when they become meaningful. The main strength behind where Star Cineplex is today is the love of the audience. This journey has been successful because audiences have been with us. We are immensely grateful to them for this.”
He added, “Audiences are always eager for good movies. We do not want to depend only on foreign films. We want good movies to be produced regularly in our country. We want theaters to always be crowded with audiences watching Bangladeshi movies.”
Star Cineplex currently has branches at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall, Shimanto Shambhar Dhanmondi, SKS Tower in Mohakhali, Military Museum, Sony Square Mirpur and Center Point Uttara in Dhaka, Shimanto Tower in Narayanganj and Bali Arcade and Finlay Square in Chattogram.
The company is working to open new branches in Bogura and Rajshahi this year. Authorities also said there are plans to open more branches in different areas of Dhaka.
