Bangladesh has expressed anger over India allowing Sheikh Hasina, who is staying in India while facing a death sentence for crimes against humanity, to participate in a direct interaction with journalists in Delhi.
The Bangladesh government said it had already conveyed its concerns to the Indian government about the potential negative impact of holding the event on efforts to rebuild bilateral relations. Despite this, Bangladesh has expressed deep disappointment and anger over the event being allowed to take place on Indian soil.
Bangladesh national team all rounder Shakib Al Hasan took part in the interaction. As a result, many people in the country have also expressed anger toward Shakib Al Hasan. Singer Asif Akbar has also expressed his anger.
Just four months ago, in March this year, Asif Akbar had called Shakib a Nawab. Four months later, Asif has expressed a different view of Shakib Al Hasan. Expressing his anger, the singer wrote on his Facebook, “I had sympathy for him as one of the country’s great players. In fact, he is a proven accomplice of a killer, a fascist. I am ashamed, sorry and apologize for my delayed realization.”
In the last week of March this year, a private television channel in the country published a video of Shakib cutting a birthday cake. The video showed Asif Akbar celebrating Shakib’s birthday by cutting a cake. At the time, the two fed each other cake. Asif also addressed Shakib as ‘Nawab.’
Four months later, the country’s widely discussed singer has made a new comment about Shakib.
