A gunfight took place between a human trafficking ring and the joint forces comprising the army, BGB, and police in the hills adjacent to a Rohingya camp in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, on Thursday. One army soldier was injured in the incident. Three people were arrested, and 57 people were rescued.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) provided this information on Thursday night.
Earlier, around 7:30 pm, a gunfight broke out between members of the joint forces and a human trafficking ring in the hills on the western side of the No. 24 Leda Rohingya Camp in Teknaf. Several members of both sides were primarily thought killed or injured. However, ISPR said there was no casualties caused by the fight.
Local residents said a joint force comprising members of the police, RAB, BGB, and the army conducted an operation against an armed bandit group involved in abduction and human trafficking. At that time, a gunfight broke out between the joint force members and members of the ring positioned in the hills.
