We will give tickets, if needed, but come back to the country

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury.

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury has called on former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled the country during the student-people's mass uprising, to return home and face trial. He also said that if necessary, she would be given a ticket to come to the country.

He made this call on Saturday while speaking at a rally organized by the Nandail Upazila BNP in Mymensingh on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

Speaking as the chief guest at the rally organized by Nandail Upazila and Municipal BNP, the State Minister for Information said, "You have fled after killing people, and now you are only roaring on social media. But the people of Bangladesh have understood your roaring. So you must now come to the country. Not secretly—come now; if necessary, we will give you a ticket."

He said that those who in past years deprived the country's people of their voting rights, engaged in corruption, looting, disappearances and killings, and shed the blood of women and children martyred in the July mass uprising—their trial will be held on the soil of Bangladesh. He also warned that fugitives would be handcuffed and brought to stand in the dock of justice.

Addressing local leaders, activists and the public, the junior minister said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the country is today moving forward on the path of development. Those who want to obstruct this progress must be resisted, whatever their conspiracy or chaos. If you see anyone suspicious, hand them over quickly to the law enforcement agencies."

Highlighting various development activities in Nandail, Yaser Khan Chowdhury said that 186 roads have already been brick-soled to improve the communication system in the area, and allocations have been made for brick-soling another 104 roads. In addition, grants totaling Tk 11.5 crore have been brought for repairing various roads, which has not come to any other upazila in Mymensingh. Thirty-six houses have been provided for the rehabilitation of the homeless, and there are plans to build another 104 houses this year. He also mentioned that the construction of the Jahangirpur and Charbetagair bridges, along with the approval process for buildings of 23 educational institutions, is underway.

Regarding the upcoming Union Parishad elections, the State Minister said, "In the future, nominations for BNP-supported candidates will be given based on the public's opinion and surveys. You will elect qualified candidates who are on the side of development and democracy."

Expressing gratitude to leaders, activists and ordinary people from various unions and wards who attended the rally, he said, "I am working as your activist and want to continue serving you in the future. We will remain united in the field of development, on the streets, and against all conspiracies."

The rally, held at the local Chandipasha School ground in Nandail, turned into a huge sea of people. Local BNP leaders and activists and a large number of ordinary people participated in the rally.
