Prime Minister Tarique Rahman directs acceleration of circular road construction work.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman wants to see tangible progress in the construction work of the Inner Circular Ring Road to ease traffic congestion in the capital.
Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shipul said that the Prime Minister gave instructions to accelerate the project at a review meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office at the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat today, Sunday.
The Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary said, "The meeting discussed identifying existing obstacles to project implementation and removing them quickly, ensuring effective coordination among the relevant agencies, and setting a realistic timeline for completing the work."
"The Prime Minister has asked to ensure visible progress in the construction work of the project. Necessary instructions have been given to accelerate the construction work of the project."
He further added, "At the meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman directed the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Local Government Division to review the existing plan of the project in a coordinated manner and accelerate the construction work."
One section of this circular road in Dhaka extends from Abdullahpur Railway Gate through Dhaur, Birulia, Gabtoli, Bosila, Hazaribagh, Swarighat, Kadamtali, Teghoria, Posta, Fatullah, Chashara, and Shimrail to Demra. Another section will go from the railway gate through Termukh, Purbachal, and Beraid to Demra. Altogether, it is about 89 kilometers.
Among these, construction work is ongoing on the Rayerbazar, Hazaribagh, and Kamrangirchar sections. Once the construction work of this circular road is completed, it will be possible to travel from one end to the other without using the internal roads of the capital.
Road Transport and Bridges and Railways and Shipping Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and Railways Habibur Rashid Habib, Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Abdus Salam, Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton, and senior officials of the relevant ministries and divisions were present at the meeting.
