Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman has said that workers and the people will continue their movement until people’s voting rights and the verdict of the referendum are implemented. He said, “If the government does not respect the people’s verdict, the struggle to establish the rights of the country’s people will continue.”
He made the remarks on Friday as the chief guest at a unit representatives’ conference organized by the Chattogram metropolitan unit of the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation.
Addressing the conference, Professor Mujibur Rahman said there is no alternative to following Allah’s laws and Islamic ideals to ensure the country’s welfare and establish a justice-based society. He said man-made ideologies cannot guarantee genuine liberation and peace for the people. Workers and laborers must unite and play a role in movements aimed at transforming society.
He said the country must build organized strength to protect the interests of workers and ordinary people. Ideological and moral leadership must be developed by conveying the message of Islam to the public. Positive change in the country is possible through the support and participation of workers.
Referring to the proposed budget, he said it needs to be more people-friendly and worker-friendly. He added that it lacks effective measures to reduce unemployment, create jobs, and improve the living standards of working people.
The conference, chaired by Federation Central Assistant Secretary General and Chattogram Metropolitan President SM Lutfor Rahman, was attended as special guests by Jamaat-e-Islami Central Assistant Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan, Federation Central President Advocate Atikur Rahman, City Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Secretary Principal Nurul Amin, Federation Central Vice Presidents Mojibur Rahman Bhuiyan and Muhammad Ishaq, and City Jamaat Assistant Secretaries Faisal Muhammad Yunus and Principal Khairul Bashar.
