Bus Falls into Pond After Being Hit by Truck in Kushtia, 3 Killed

Three people have been killed and around 20 others injured after a bus fell into a pond following a collision with a truck in Khoksa of Kushtia district.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning.

Witnesses said a dump truck travelling from Kushtia to Pabna hit a the bus journeying from Rajbari to Kushtia. The impact caused the bus to overturn and fall into a nearby pond.

One of the deceased has been identified as Nabil (28), son of Junaid. He was returning from Faridpur. The identities of the other two victims could not be confirmed immediately.

The bus was carrying around 50 riders while travelling from Rajbari to Kushtia. The accident took place on a regional highway in Kutigram area of Shimulia Union under Khoksa upazila.

Among the injured, 11 people were taken from Khoksa to Kushtia for advanced treatment. Doctors said three of them are in critical condition. Seven others are being treated at Khoksa, while four received first aid and returned home.
