Bus Loses Control and Falls into Pond in Khulna, 1 Dead

A passenger bus lost control and fell into a pond beside the highway in Dumuria upazila of Khulna. One young man was killed in the accident that took place around 9:30 am on Wednesday in the Gutudia area, in front of PCF Feed Industries on the Khulna–Satkhira highway. At least seven passengers were also injured.
The deceased was identified as Saidur Rahman Said (25), son of Ahsabur Sardar from Khariya village in Paikgachha upazila.
Sub-Inspector Shamim of Dumuria Police Station confirmed the information to Agamir Somoy.
Police and Fire Service officials said the bus had left Paikgachha at around 8:10 am carrying passengers toward Khulna. While passing through the Gutudia area in front of PCF Feed Industries, the driver lost control on a damaged brick-laid road, causing the bus to fall into a roadside pond.
Fire Service and police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving the news and launched a rescue operation.
The injured passengers were admitted to Dumuria Upazila Health Complex for treatment. However, officials said the bus has not yet been recovered.
