Two groups exchange fire in Sajek, 9-year-old child shot

An exchange of gunfire took place between the JSS-Santu group and UPDF over dominance at Sajek of Baghaichhari Upazila under Rangamati district.
During this, a child named Sanjita Tripura (9) was shot.
On Tuesday (September 29) morning, in the Chailyatli area of Sajek, repeated exchanges of gunfire took place between the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (JSS-Santu group) and the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF-Prosit group).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tofayel Ahmed of Sajek Police Station confirmed the incident and said, "In the Sajek area, an exchange of gunfire took place this morning between two sides centering on establishing dominance. At that time, a child was shot in the left hand. She was taken to the hospital and the bullet was removed from the child's hand. The child is currently out of danger."
