Members of the Animal Lovers of Patuakhali have rescued a pair of Ornate Flying snakes from the office of the DIG of Barishal Range. After an operation lasting about three and a half hours, the couple of snakes were recovered by breaking the wall of the DIG's room.
The operation took place from 4 PM to 7:30 PM on Sunday. The two snakes were later handed over to the Sadar Range of the Forest Department.
Asadullah Hasan Musa, Director of Animal Lovers of Patuakhali, shared this information today (Monday) afternoon. He said that on Sunday afternoon, they received a tip-off that three snakes had entered the DIG's room in the Kashhipur area of Barishal city.
"Initially, the partition of the room's ceiling had to be opened to search for the snakes. When the snakes were not found there, a section of the wall was broken. Later, a pair of mildly venomous Ornate Flying snakes sheltered in a gap in the wall were rescued."
Arif Rahman, Official of the Barishal Sadar Range of the Social Forest Department, said that there is a plan to release the two snakes today.
The DIG of Barishal Range, Mostafizur Rahman, believes that the snakes may have entered the building from the bushes surrounding the office.
