2 children die with measles symptoms in Sylhet

Two children with measles symptoms died in Sylhet division in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 118.
Sylhet Health Department Assistant Director Mohammad Nure Alam Shamim confirmed the matter on Wednesday
During the same period, 27 new measles cases were confirmed. From 1 January to 5 August, the number of confirmed measles patients in the division has risen to 753.
According to the measles and rubella report from the Divisional Director (Health) in Sylhet, 248 people in Sylhet district, 351 in Sunamganj, 79 in Habiganj (including two rubella patients), and 75 in Moulvibazar have been diagnosed with measles.
Moreover, 303 individuals are undergoing treatment for measles symptoms in various hospitals across the division.
To prevent the spread of measles, the Health Department emphasized the importance of ensuring regular vaccination for children, bringing those infected under quick treatment, and increasing public awareness.
