Private Car Rams into Stationary Truck, 5 Dead

In Bhanga, Faridpur, five people have died after a private car crashed into the back of a stationary truck carrying gas cylinders. Two others were injured in the incident. Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar Highway Police Station, and Dr. Abir, a physician in the emergency department of Faridpur Medical College Hospital, confirmed the information.

The victims' families are from the Jessore district, but police have not yet been able to immediately identify them. Among the deceased are two women and three men.

Police reported that the accident occurred early this morning on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway, slightly before the Maligram underpass in Bhanga Upazila. A private car hit the rear of a stationary truck carrying gas cylinders. Four people, including the driver, died at the scene. Three others were injured.

The injured were taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, where one person was referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Upon arrival, the attending physician declared him dead.

Dr. Abir, from the emergency department of Faridpur Medical College Hospital, stated that one person was brought to the hospital dead. The body has been kept in the hospital morgue.

Regarding the matter, OC Mizanur Rahman of Shibchar Highway Police Station said, "Upon receiving the news of the accident, we went to the scene and conducted a rescue operation. We recovered four bodies and three injured individuals from the scene and sent them to the hospital. Legal proceedings regarding the incident are underway."
