RAB arrests ‘Shooter’ Arman in Khulna

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested “Shooter” Arman alias Arman Hossain Dipu with weapons and ammunition in Khulna on Sunday.
RAB-6 Deputy Commander Major Nazmul Islam confirmed the matter on Monday. Arman is the chief of the “Arman Force” and is widely known as “Shooter” Arman. RAB recovered a foreign pistol, two shotguns, and 12 rounds of shotgun ammunition.
Major Nazmul said Arman had been associated with a terrorist group active in Aronghata, Khulna for a long time. Later, he formed his own terrorist force. The group consists of 8-10 members.
He added, “His Arman Force has been creating panic among people for a long time through terrorist activities, establishing dominance, extortion, intimidation, and arms display in Daulatpur, Khalishpur, Aranghata, Digholia, and surrounding areas of the metropolis.”
The group used to demand extortion money from businessmen by calling them on WhatsApp from various foreign numbers. There are also allegations against them of shutting down businesses, intimidating, and threatening to shoot them dead if they refused to pay the extortion.
Arman admitted his involvement in the attempted murder of two people by entering a mosque in Daulatpur and opening fire on them on 17 June. He faces multiple cases, including murder and attempted murder, at various police stations.
Among these, the Mamun Molla murder in 2021, the Marjan Munna murder in 2022, and the Ghaura Rajib and Jubodal leader Rashu murder cases are notable. He is a suspected accused in several other cases, including the Kala Rana and Monirul Islam Roni murder cases.
