In a proactive move, Member of Parliament for the Rajshahi-3 constituency, Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, instructed the local administration to take immediate action after hearing grievances from women during a courtyard meeting in the Nowhata municipal area of Paba Upazila. Upon receiving his call, Paba Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ibnul Abedin arrived directly at the scene on a motorcycle.
The meeting took place today, Monday, around 10:30 AM in the Bhugrail Bholabari area of Nowhata. During the session, local women highlighted several issues, including dark roads, a lack of solar street lights, drainage crises, and the persistent risk of accidents. After listening intently to these concerns, the MP directed the UNO to visit the location without delay.
Upon his arrival, the UNO spoke directly with the residents and noted their problems in his diary. He assured the community that initiatives would be taken to resolve these issues quickly after a proper assessment. He also emphasized that political identity is not a factor in providing government services and that all citizens enjoy equal rights.
During the meeting, one woman alleged that they lacked solar lights in their neighborhood because they held opposing political views. In response, the MP said one's political affiliation should never be a barrier to development activities and that equal opportunities would be ensured for everyone.
The MP further remarked that the promises made before the election would be implemented step by step. He noted that his primary goal is to reach out to the people, listen to their problems, and ensure swift solutions.
