Swadhin Becomes First Administrator of Bogura City Corporation

The government has appointed MR Islam Swadhin as the first administrator of the newly formed Bogura City Corporation. He formally assumed office on Tuesday morning. MR Islam Swadhin is the vice president of the Bogura district unit of BNP.
A gazette notification in this regard was issued.
According to the notification, he will exercise the powers and responsibilities of the mayor until the city corporation is formally constituted.
After assuming office, newly appointed administrator Swadhin expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the Local Government Minister and State Minister. He said Bogura would be developed into a modern and well-planned city corporation through collective efforts.
It may be noted that the government officially declared Bogura a city corporation through a gazette notification signed by Local Government Division Secretary Md. Shahidul Hasan on Thursday. The new city corporation has been formed with 21 wards by combining Bogura Municipality and several expanded and adjacent areas of Sadar and Shajahanpur upazilas.
