The bodies of four members of the same family have been recovered from Bahadurpur village in the Niamatpur upazila of Naogaon. The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Niamatpur Police Station, Md. Mahbubur Rahman, confirmed the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Habibur Rahman (32), son of Namir Uddin; his wife, Popi Sultana (25); their son, Parvez (9); and their three-year-old daughter, Sadia Akter.
According to local residents, neighbors entered the house after Fajr prayers upon noticing the door was open. They discovered the four bodies and immediately informed the police. While the exact motive remains unknown, locals suspect the killings may have stemmed from a land dispute.
OC Mahbubur Rahman stated that the couple was found with their throats slit, while the children sustained fatal head injuries. He added that an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause and motive behind the murders.
