Dismembered human remains recovered on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Munshiganj's Gazaria area.
Highway police have recovered scattered dismembered body parts of a person on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in the Baushia area of Gazaria, Munshiganj. The remains were recovered early today (Saturday) from the Dhaka-bound lane of the highway.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shah Kamal Akand of Bhaberchar Highway Police Station confirmed the information.
He said that around 5:30 AM on Saturday, locals spotted severed limbs and a crushed head in the Baushia area and informed the police. Patrol police later recovered the remains. The OC suspects the body belongs to a woman aged over 50. The rest of the body has not yet been found.
OC Kamal also said that his preliminary assumption is that the woman may have died in a road accident. A team from the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) is heading to Munshiganj to identify the body and investigate the incident.
