Collected Photo

The fire that broke out in the Kalsi slum of Mirpur, Dhaka, has been brought under control. However, the Fire Service was not immediately able to say the reason behind the fire and the magnitude of damages.

Firefighters brought the fire under control after about two hours of effort by a total of 15 units of the Fire Service and Civil Defense. Anwarul Islam, an official of the media cell of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department, said that the fire was brought under control at 9:35 PM.

Firefighters had to struggle to extinguish the fire due to a water shortage at the accident site. Earlier, the Fire Service and Civil Defense said the fire started at 7:23 PM on Monday. Upon receiving the news, 4 units of the Fire Service started working to control the fire. Then, a total of 15 units from Pallabi, Mirpur, and Kurmitola Fire Stations worked to extinguish the fire.
