200 Measles Hit Families Get Aid

The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society has provided financial assistance of Tk 10,000 each to nearly 200 families affected by measles through online banking. The organization also distributed hygiene kits among patients receiving treatment and healthcare workers at Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
The assistance was handed over during a program organized by the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society at Chattogram Medical College Hospital on Wednesday.
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor and Chairman of the Chattogram City Red Crescent, Dr. Shahadat Hossain, attended the event as the chief guest.
“Standing beside vulnerable people is the core strength and commitment of the Red Crescent. This support for families affected by measles reflects our humanitarian responsibility and social commitment,” the mayor said.
He added that the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society has consistently supported people during natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and other humanitarian crises, expressing hope that its welfare activities would continue to expand in the future.
Among others present at the event were Brig. Gen. Mohammad Taslim Uddin, director of Chattogram Medical College Hospital; Golam Baki Masud, secretary of the Chattogram City Red Crescent; executive committee member Ziaul Haque Sohel; Youth Chief Dipta Bhattacharya; and other Red Crescent officials and volunteers.
