Students often waste time scrolling aimlessly through social media. With the aim of turning that habit into an opportunity to learn and prepare for job recruitment and university admission tests, an educational app called ‘PorikkhaDao AI’ has been developed.
The app was created by Mohammad Jalal Uddin, a former student of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Chittagong (CU). It was recently launched on the Google Play Store.
The app brings together social networking, academic learning, exam preparation, job information, artificial intelligence (AI) assistance and communication with fellow students. It offers various features to help candidates prepare for the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination, government jobs, university admission tests, teacher registration examinations and bank recruitment tests. It also caters to school and college students.
Jalal Uddin wanted to make academic questions, answers, study discussions and job updates available alongside entertainment content on students’ newsfeeds, given the considerable time they spend on social media. With this idea in mind, he initially launched ‘QFeed’. Later, he added exam preparation tools, model tests and AI assistance to develop it into a comprehensive app called ‘PorikkhaDao AI’.
Through the app’s Custom Exam Mode, candidates can take tests by selecting their preferred subjects, chapters, number of questions, duration, negative marking settings and difficulty levels according to their needs. It also offers thousands of model tests based on various competitive examinations, including BCS, teacher registration and bank recruitment tests.
The ‘Streak Game’ feature allows users to test how many consecutive questions they can answer correctly. The app also uses AI to analyze examination results and performance to identify users’ weak areas.
Through QFeed, students can ask questions and answer queries posted by others. They can also verify whether an answer is correct and receive explanations. If users have difficulty understanding a particular subject, they can seek assistance from two AI models named ‘Guru’ and ‘Hadi’.
Job seekers can view recruitment notices from different organizations, apply directly and track the progress of their applications. They can also receive WhatsApp reminders about important updates, including the publication of admit cards, examination dates and results.
In addition, the Attendance Tracker allows users to keep records of how many days and hours they study each month and which subjects they cover. They can set personal goals and monitor their progress through performance sheets.
The app is not limited to students. Teachers can also benefit from its features. An ‘Educator Zone’ is available for teachers and coaching center operators. It allows them to create virtual classrooms, conduct model tests, analyze results and exchange necessary files with students. Users can also share photos, files and voice notes with their classmates.
