CPB Demands Trial of Yunus, Nurjahan Over Measles Deaths

The Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) held a rally and procession in Chattogram demanding punishment for those responsible for child deaths caused by measles across the country.
Mohammad Shah Alam, former president of the party, said former chief adviser of the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum “cannot evade responsibility” for the deaths of 400 children and must face trial.
He made the remarks at a rally organized by the district CPB at Cinema Palace intersection in the city on Friday afternoon.
District CPB President Ashok Saha presided over the event, while Assistant General Secretary Nurussafa Bhuiyan conducted it. Central committee member Mrinal Chowdhury and district General Secretary Mohammad Jahangir also addressed the gathering.
Following the rally, CPB leaders and activists brought out a procession that marched through different roads in the city.
