Bangladesh Honda Private Limited launched the new Honda Dio in Dhaka on Friday, introducing a 110cc automatic scooter designed for convenient, comfortable, and stylish urban commuting under the tagline “Smart vibe, Easy ride”.
The new model features a 109.51cc PGM-FI engine that generates 10.82 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 9.03 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Equipped with an automatic clutch, the scooter allows riders to simply twist and go without manual gear shifting.
To ensure smoother stop-and-go riding and quieter restarts, the manufacturer integrated an Idling Stop System (ISS) alongside an ACG Silent Starter. For enhanced safety and effective braking, the scooter incorporates a Combi Brake System (CBS), while a side-stand engine cut-off provides an extra layer of protection.
Commenting on the launch, Susumu Morisawa, managing director & CEO of Bangladesh Honda Private Limited, said, “Today, we are opening a new chapter for two-wheelers in Bangladesh. More young people, women and men alike, including first-time riders, are looking for mobility that fits naturally into their everyday lives.
“Our answer is a new SMART transportation solution for the city through easy to ride, confidence on every journey, convenience for city life, and now more within reach with greater safety. Through the localization in Bangladesh we can proudly provide Dio at a reasonable price maintaining Honda quality.”
Specifically tailored for city traffic, the Honda Dio features a seat height of 765mm, a narrow width of 680mm, and an overall weight of 101.5kg. The scooter utilizes telescopic front suspension and unit swing rear suspension to handle city streets.
For rider convenience, the vehicle offers an 18-liter under-seat storage compartment, an open glovebox, generous floorboard space, and a 15W Type-C charging port. An external fuel lid enables refueling without opening the seat, while the updated body styling includes a DRL headlamp.
Highlighting the vehicle's features, Shah Muhammad Ashequr Rahman, chief marketing officer of Bangladesh Honda Private Limited, said, “The new Dio brings together easy handling, convenience and style in one smart package. With its automatic transmission, low seat height, light weight and compact design, it is easy to control in city traffic, while PGM-FI and the Idling Stop System help riders save fuel and cost. Dio delivers a smart and comfortable riding experience for everyday commuters.”
Bangladesh Honda Private Limited set the market price for the new Honda Dio in Bangladesh at Tk 1,57,000. The scooter comes with a two-year or 20,000km warranty, whichever comes earlier, along with five free services and two paid services.
Available color options include Mat Marvel Blue Metallic, Mat Axis Gray Metallic, and Imperial Red Metallic. Customers can purchase the new scooter at Honda Exclusive Authorized Dealer showrooms nationwide starting Friday.
