Indo-Bangla Pharma factory operations return to normal

Production at Indo-Bangla Pharmaceuticals’ factory in Barishal has returned to normal after being temporarily disrupted due to worker unrest. The company disclosed the information in response to an inquiry from the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
In response to a letter sent by the Dhaka Stock Exchange on October 6, the company said several workers were accused of verbally harassing a company official on September 13. Following an investigation, action was taken against those responsible in accordance with the law.
Afterward, some of the workers created disorder on the factory premises and disrupted normal production activities. The management took necessary measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations to control the situation.
The company said factory operations have been peaceful and normal since September 27. The incident did not have any negative impact on the company’s regular business activities.
Indo-Bangla Pharmaceuticals said the incident involving the workers did not have any long-term impact on the company’s normal business operations. Therefore, there is no uncertainty regarding the company’s ability to continue its business in the future.
On September 24, an online news outlet published a report about workers protesting in Barishal demanding the closure of the factory. Following the report, the Dhaka Stock Exchange sought an explanation from the company. In its response, Indo-Bangla Pharmaceuticals outlined the situation at the factory and the current status of its production operations.
