Midas Finance PLC, a listed financial institution, has decided not to pay any dividend to its shareholders for the 2025 financial year. The board of directors declared a ‘no dividend’ due to the company’s substantial losses, according to Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sources.
The company reported a loss per share (EPS) of Tk 23.40 in FY2025, compared with a loss of Tk 2.24 in the previous financial year. This means the company’s losses increased significantly over the year.
The company’s annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on September 24 to approve the ‘no dividend’ decision and other agenda. September 2 has been set as the record date to determine the shareholders eligible to attend the AGM.
Meanwhile, the company’s financial position deteriorated further in the first six months of the current financial year, from January to June 2026. During the period, its consolidated loss per share stood at Tk 6.21, compared with Tk 3.26 in the same period of the previous year. As a result, the loss per share increased by Tk 2.95, or nearly 90%, year-on-year.
However, the second quarter, from April to June 2026, showed some signs of improvement. The consolidated loss per share stood at Tk 1.43 during the quarter, compared with Tk 1.83 in the same period of the previous year. Thus, the quarterly loss declined by Tk 0.40, or around 22%.
Meanwhile, as of June 30 this year, the company’s net asset value per share (NAVPS) stood at negative Tk 24.87, reflecting the company’s weak financial position, according to officials concerned.
