Victims of four brokerages to receive compensation

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has taken an initiative to provide compensation of up to Tk500,000 to affected investors of four brokerage houses in the stock market against their verified and unsettled claims.
The commission has decided to instruct the relevant authorities to arrange this compensation payout from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Investors' Protection Fund.
This decision was made on Monday, during the 1,035th emergency meeting of the commission, chaired by BSEC Chairman Masud Khan. The information was disclosed in a press release signed by BSEC Executive Director and Spokesperson Md. Abul Kalam.
The four brokerage houses are Banco Securities Limited, Tamha Securities Limited, Crest Securities Limited, and Shah Mohammad Sagir & Company Limited.
According to the BSEC decision, in accordance with the provisions of the DSE Investors' Protection Fund, each investor will receive a maximum compensation of Tk500,000 against their verified and unsettled claims. The commission has decided to issue directives to the concerned parties to take necessary measures in this regard.
