On Thursday (October 29), the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) published the financial results of the banks for the first nine months of the current year on its website. The figures were calculated by comparing their earnings from January to September 2026 with those of the same period last year.
According to the published data, Dutch-Bangla Bank’s consolidated earnings per share stood at Tk 6.15 in the first nine months of this year, up from Tk 2.52 in the same period last year. As a result, its EPS increased by Tk 3.63, or 144 percent, year on year.
Pubali Bank’s EPS rose to Tk 10.15 from Tk 5.83 in the same period last year, marking a 74 percent increase. BRAC Bank’s EPS increased to Tk 7.70 from Tk 5.29, up 46 percent. Eastern Bank’s EPS rose to Tk 5.10 from Tk 3.56, representing an increase of 43 percent.

This represents an increase of 480 percent. However, the growth rate appears particularly high because the bank’s earnings were relatively low in the previous year.

One Bank’s EPS fell to Tk 0.88 from Tk 1.07, a decline of 18 percent. UCB’s EPS dropped to Tk 0.26 from Tk 0.32, down 19 percent. Trust Bank’s EPS decreased to Tk 2.17 from Tk 2.55, while MTB’s EPS fell to Tk 1.76 from Tk 1.92.

The bank’s consolidated loss per share stood at Tk 10.58 in the first nine months of this year, compared with a loss of Tk 1.68 in the same period last year. Consequently, its loss per share increased by Tk 8.90, or approximately 530 percent.
