The price of the 12-kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder used in households has increased by Tk 70 in a single jump. As a result, a new price will now be effective at Tk 1,598 which was previlously sold at Tk 1,528.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new price in a notification today, Sunday. The notification reads that the new price would come into effect from 6:00 PM today (Sunday) and would remain in force until further notice.
BERC said that the new prices for LPG and autogas at the consumer level have been set due to an increase in raw material prices in the international market. According to the notification, the price adjustment has been made considering the average price of propane and butane announced by the international market or Saudi Aramco for August 2026, which is USD 633 per metric ton.
