Remittance inflows reach $915 M in 8 days

In the first 8 days of the current month of August, remittances worth $915 million have landed the country, which is 42.9 percent higher than the $640 million received during the same period, last year.
According to Bangladesh Bank data, Bangladeshi expatriates sent $313 million in remittances over the three-day period from August 6 to 8.
From July 1 to August 8 of the current 2026–27 fiscal year, total remittances sent to the country stood at $3.773 billion. During the same period of the previous fiscal year, the amount was $3.118 billion.
According to the latest data, year-on-year growth in remittance flows during this period stands at 21.0 percent, reflecting the consistently strong income flows of Bangladeshi migrant workers employed abroad.
