Nagad, the mobile financial service of the Bangladesh Postal Department, has rolled out a redesigned mobile application aimed at making digital financial transactions faster, easier and more secure.
Built with a user-friendly interface and cutting-edge technology, this new app will elevate people’s daily financial experience to new heights, said a Nagad press release.
Designed as one of the safest apps in the country’s financial sector, this aesthetically pleasing app will be continuously upgraded and made more user-friendly in phases, with many new features to be added in the future.
The new Nagad app is now available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Customers must update the app before making any new transactions to ensure uninterrupted digital services.
The transaction experience on Nagad has become smoother and more convenient. The new app features significantly lower response, load, and lag times compared to other financial service apps. Frequently used features have been thoughtfully organised based on customer convenience. With its simple and hassle-free design, marginalised populations can also use the app easily. Customers’ freedom of transactions is ensured through core services such as payments, send money, mobile recharge, cash out, utility bill payments, as well as interoperability features. This will further accelerate the country’s transition toward a cashless society. Additional financial services, including loans, fixed deposits and insurance, will be made available shortly.
Special emphasis has been placed on mitigating transaction-related fraud risks. To strengthen security, a Device Binding feature has been introduced to safeguard customer accounts. To ensure overall security, Nagad’s new app incorporates a multi-layered, internationally standardised security framework. Advanced technology-based fraud prevention systems guarantee account security, allowing customers to transact with complete peace of mind. To counter fraud and AI-based hacking, Artificial Intelligence has been incorporated into the app’s security to detect and prevent suspicious security risks in real time.
Regarding this, Md. Motasem Billah, the administrator appointed by Bangladesh Bank to Nagad, said, “The new app has been launched prioritising maximum customer convenience alongside financial security. We have combined a modern user-friendly experience with a robust security framework in the new app. As a result, customers can complete their everyday digital transactions more easily and quickly while keeping their information and money secure.”
Nagad’s main goal is to create an ecosystem where customers can complete all daily financial transactions from this single app, he also said, mentioning that new services and security features will be continuously added to the app to accommodate customers’ evolving financial needs.
