This time jet fuel prices hike

The price of jet fuel used in domestic flights has been increased by Tk 29 per liter, while the price for international routes has been raised by 85 cents. The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new rates on Sunday.
Last month, jet fuel prices were cut by Tk 19.22 per liter. Prior to that, prices had fallen by Tk 15.67 in June, and in May, prices were trimmed in two phases, totaling a reduction of Tk 61.12. Similarly, prices on international routes had also been lowered. However, following the outbreak of war in the Middle East, prices rose by a total of Tk 107 in two phases in March, and by Tk 24.79 in a single go in April.
According to the new rates set by BERC for the current month, the price on domestic routes has been raised from Tk 130.99 to Tk 159.52 per liter, while on international routes, the price has been increased from 85 cents to $1.03.
In May 2025, BERC announced jet fuel prices for the first time, stating that they would be adjusted monthly in line with the international market. Previously, the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) would determine prices from time to time. However, there are records of multiple price adjustments within the same month as well.
Meanwhile, this fresh increase in jet fuel prices is expected to raise aircraft operating costs, which could have an impact on both domestic and international airfares.
