Soybean Oil Price Rises by Tk4 per Liter

The price of soybean oil has increased by Tk4 per liter. Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muqtadir announced the hike on Wednesday after a meeting on the review of edible oil prices held at the conference room of the Ministry of Commerce.

He said the price of bottled soybean oil has been raised by Tk4 per liter, from Tk195 to Tk199. The price of loose soybean oil has also been increased from Tk175 to Tk179 per liter.

The government has decided to adjust edible oil prices in the domestic market in consideration of the global market situation, the commerce minister said.

He added that he hopes consumers will view the matter in light of global conditions, and that this will help normalize the supply situation in the market.
