Import and export activities at the Hili Land Port will remain suspended for seven consecutive days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. However, passenger movement through the Hili Immigration Checkpost will continue as usual.
The information was confirmed on Sunday by Nazmul Haque, General Secretary of the Hili Land Port Importers and Exporters Group.
He said that all import-export operations will remain closed from May 25 to May 31 due to Eid-ul-Azha holidays. Normal trade activities are scheduled to resume on June 1.
Customs authorities at Hili said that although operations will be halted for the holiday period, the customs office itself will remain open except on official government holidays. During this time, traders will still be able to carry out customs assessment and inspection procedures.
Meanwhile, Officer-in-Charge of the Hili Immigration Checkpost, Ariful Islam, said that while trade activities will remain suspended, passenger movement through the immigration checkpoint will continue without interruption during the Eid period.
