Gold Prices Rise in Domestic Market

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has revised gold prices in the country following an increase in the price of refined gold in the local market. The new rates came into effect at 10:00 am on Thursday.

Under the revised pricing, the price of 22-carat gold, highest quality, has increased by Tk 2,157 per bhori and has been set at Tk 238,120.

The price of 21-carat gold has risen by Tk 2,099 per bhori to Tk 227,331, while 18-carat gold has increased by Tk 1,808 per bhori to Tk 194,847. Traditional gold has been raised by Tk 1,458 per bhori to Tk 158,689.

Despite the rise in gold prices, silver rates remain unchanged in the local market. According to category, 22-carat silver is priced at Tk 5,657 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk 5,365, 18-carat at Tk 4,607, and traditional silver at Tk 3,441.

On Wednesday, BAJUS had reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,015 per bhori, setting it at Tk 235,963.

At that time, the price of 21-carat gold was set at Tk 225,232, 18-carat at Tk 193,039, and traditional gold at Tk 157,231.
