State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam has said the decision to bring ambassador Md. Daud Ali back to Dhaka from Japan ahead of the Prime Minister's visit is an internal matter of the Foreign Ministry.

She made this remark on Saturday after a national dialogue organized by CIRDAP. The dialogue was organized by 33 civil society and development organizations of the country ahead of COP-31 to be held in Antalya, Turkey.

The junior minister said, "When, which ambassador will be summoned is the sole decision of the Foreign Ministry. This is not a national or international matter. This is standard procedure."

Regarding the Prime Minister's visit to Japan, she said, "This visit is very important (for Bangladesh). There is a possibility of signing cooperation agreements on various issues in the country's infrastructure, energy, technology, garments, education, and health sectors. I hope this visit of the Prime Minister will create an avenue for generating new Japanese investment."

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is flying to Japan on a four-day state visit on October 26. Prior to his visit, the government has decided to bring Bangladesh's Ambassador to Tokyo, Md. Daud Ali, back to Dhaka. This has created various reactions in different quarters.
