Acting Speaker of Parliament Barrister Kayser Kamal has ordered the formation of an investigation committee following the fire at the National Parliament complex. The committee will be formed to determine the actual cause of the fire, assess the extent of the damage, and provide necessary recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the National Parliament Secretariat on Tuesday night.

Earlier, at around 3:15 pm Tuesday, a fire broke out at the office of the Executive Engineer of Public Works Department 1, located in the main Parliament building. After receiving the report, members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence quickly arrived at the scene and brought the fire completely under control within a short time. No casualties were reported. The cause of the fire could not be confirmed immediately.

After receiving news of the fire, Acting Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal and the Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat immediately visited the scene. They were briefed on the incident by the concerned officials and provided necessary instructions.

The press release said that detailed information regarding the cause of the fire and related matters will be disclosed after the investigation committee submits its report.
