Ramiz Uddin Londoni, convener of the Meghna upazila unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Cumilla, has been accused of taking Tk 100,000 and three goats in exchange for promising a party position. A video related to the allegation has circulated on Facebook.
On Monday, Md Moslem Molla, a member of the Bhorakhola Union BNP, submitted a written complaint to the convener of the Cumilla North District BNP.
In the complaint, Moslem Molla alleged that Ramiz Uddin Londoni had taken Tk 100,000 from him in exchange for securing him an organizational post in the union BNP. He also claimed that he had given the leader three goats as gifts. Moslem Molla said he had evidence to support the allegations.
He requested an impartial investigation into the complaint and called for necessary organizational action under the party constitution if the allegations were found to be true.
Several attempts were made to contact Ramiz Uddin Londoni by phone for comment, but he could not be reached.
Cumilla North District BNP Convener Abul Hashem said, “We have received a written complaint. The video circulating on social media has also come to our attention. However, no decision has yet been made regarding organizational action in this matter.”
