Through the initiative, the organizers hope to bring the experience, creativity and outlook on life of senior citizens more actively into the social sphere while creating a joyful and welcoming space for them.

In his welcome speech, Gold Club Director Syeduzzaman Rowshan said, “Senior citizens have been neglected in their families and in society. We created this club for senior citizens with the idea of standing by them. This idea basically came from Agamir Somoy Editor Mustafa Mamun.”Daily Agamir Somoy Editor Mustafa Mamun speaks at the agreement signing ceremony. Photo: Sazzad Hossain.
Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony, Daily Agamir Somoy Editor Mustafa Mamun said, “The diverse experiences of senior citizens can enrich us in many ways. In our youth, we do business and create different identities for our careers. But as we grow older, we again merge into the same identity. At that point, everyone has only one identity, being a senior citizen. At that time, others do not have enough time to give them. We believe this initiative can bring some light to society. We created the club with that idea. We wanted senior citizens to connect with one another as well.”

Premium Homes Limited Chief Executive Officer Mainul Hasan Dulon said, “Premium Homes has been trying from the very beginning to reach the dreams of the middle class. Our goal is to provide middle class people with housing within their means. We have always wanted to do something for senior citizens. Joining this initiative is a reflection of that thinking.”

Premium Homes Limited Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ejaj-Ur-Rahman said, “We often bring negative stories to the forefront. But then we see someone giving up a seat on a bus to show respect to an elderly person, and it makes us feel good. When our loved ones are doing well, we also feel good. I hope Agamir Somoy’s Gold Club initiative for senior citizens will have an impact on society and that its light will spread throughout society. That is what I hope for.”
