Protesters Stage Sit-In in Front of Parliament Building

Students demanding the resignation of the education minister are staging a sit-in protest in front of the Parliament Building after marching from Science Lab in the capital.

They took position in front of Gate No. 2 of the Parliament Building at around 6 pm on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, students blocked the road at the Science Lab intersection in the capital, pressing three demands, including the resignation of Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon. They later staged demonstrations in front of Dhaka University and the Dhaka Education Board.

They then returned to Science Lab at 3:40 pm From there, after issuing an ultimatum demanding the education minister's resignation, they headed toward the Parliament Building at around 5:30 pm.

Demonstrations over the same demands were also held throughout the day in Uttara in the capital. In addition, protests took place in several other districts, including Chattogram, Rajshahi and Cumilla.
