The Dhaka District Administration has launched the Hello DC mobile app to make its services easier, faster, and more citizen friendly. Through the app, citizens will be able to submit applications, complaints, suggestions, access information, and receive various government services from home.
The app was inaugurated on Tuesday at the conference room of the Dhaka Deputy Commissioner’s Office by Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md. Moniruzzaman Miah. The program was chaired by Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam.
According to the district administration, the Hello DC app will allow citizens to communicate directly with the district administration. Users will be able to submit applications, complaints, and suggestions regarding land, law and order, relief, social safety programs, licensing, public complaints, and various other issues. They will also be able to track the progress of their applications through the app.
In addition, the app will provide services including appointments with the deputy commissioner, NGO related services, licensing, mutation, vested property services, and various other citizen assistance services.
Initially, the app can be downloaded from the hellodc.bd website. After Google’s review process is completed, it will also be available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The app will also be available for download through the official Facebook page of the Dhaka District Administration. Citizens will also be able to receive services by calling 01961606060 directly between 9 am and 4 pm.
Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam said, “The goal of the district administration is to deliver government services to people’s doorsteps. Through this technology based initiative, citizens’ time, costs, and harassment will be reduced. The Hello DC app has been launched to make the district administration more transparent, accountable, and service oriented.”
Divisional Commissioner Md. Moniruzzaman Miah said, “Hello DC is a timely initiative to make citizen services easier, faster, and technology based. Such innovative initiatives will bring government services closer to the people and play an important role in ensuring transparency and accountability.”
He added, “The government is working tirelessly to ensure the highest use of information technology to reduce public suffering and improve the quality of services. The Hello DC app is an effective example of that effort. The main objective of this initiative is to build an effective digital service system by ensuring the prompt resolution of citizens’ opinions and complaints.”
