PM Unveils Rural Development Day Stamp

Prime Minister Tarek Rahman on Sunday unveiled a commemorative postage stamp to mark National Rural Development Day 2026, highlighting this year’s theme: ‘Developed Villages, Prosperous Nation — Bangladesh First.’
The unveiling ceremony took place at 9:30 am at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat.
Along with the Tk 10 commemorative postage stamp, the government also released a first-day cover and a Tk 5 data card as part of the occasion.
The event was attended by Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, State Minister Mir Shahe Alam, and Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Md. Shahidul Hasan, among other officials.
Bangladesh Post issues a special commemorative postage stamp, first-day cover, and data card every year to observe National Rural Development Day, celebrated on July 6. The initiative aims to recognize contributions to the country’s rural economy and rural development while raising public awareness about the significance of the observance.
