Two Officers Suspended Over Negligence in Qurbani Waste Removal

The government has suspended two regional executive officers on the directive of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman over allegations of negligence in Qurbani waste removal operations in the capital.
The suspensions were issued on Friday on the Prime Minister’s instruction, and the officials were transferred to the Ministry of Public Administration.
The suspended officials are Md. Sadekur Rahman (Deputy Secretary), Regional Executive Officer of Zone-5 under Dhaka North City Corporation, and Kazi Saleh Mostanjir (Deputy Secretary), Regional Executive Officer of Zone-1 under Dhaka South City Corporation.
Earlier in the afternoon, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman went out to inspect waste removal activities in Dhaka. During the visit, he observed waste accumulation in Dhanmondi under Dhaka South City Corporation and Green Road under Dhaka North City Corporation. Following this, he ordered the suspension of the two officials for negligence in duty.
The Prime Minister had also gone out the previous night and observed waste accumulation in Dhanmondi. At that time, he informed Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Md. Abdus Salam over the phone about the situation.
