NCP has expressed concern over reports of question paper leaks in the ongoing SSC and equivalent examinations. The party strongly condemned and protested the incidents, alleging that they occurred due to negligence by the ministry.
In a statement issued on Saturday, signed by Joint Member Secretary Faysal Mahmud Shanto, the party said an online fraud group is leaking SSC question papers, while responsible authorities have shown no visible action.
The NCP said the education minister is prioritizing monitoring exam halls over improving the education system and ensuring the rights of teachers and students. It added that although the ministry frequently talks about preventing cheating, it has ignored serious incidents such as question paper leaks.
According to media reports, the statement noted that the leak began on the 20th of the month, but no effective steps have been taken by the authorities. It warned that such governmental irresponsibility could become a major factor in the destruction of the education system.
The statement further said that teachers and invigilators are sufficient to supervise examinations. It added that monitoring exam halls and creating reels is not the job of the minister; rather, administrative oversight of the ministry is the primary responsibility. Due to negligence by the minister and the ministry, irreversible damage is being done to the education system through question paper leaks, which is unacceptable.
The party said examinations should not continue without resolving the issue of question paper leaks. It demanded a proper investigation into the incident and exemplary punishment for those involved.
